Events and activities related to the Indian Knowledge System (IKS)

  • Add on Course on the introduction to Sanskrit language, translation, writing and reading system with reference to the Indian Language System (2023-2024)
  • Add on Course on “Roots of Medicine: A Journey through Sanskrit and Botany” to be offered by Departments of Botany and Sanskrit from 09-07-2024 TO 30-09-2024
  • March 12, 2024: One day seminar about “Etymological Significance of Some Practical Words” organized by Department of Sanskrit in collaboration with IQAC.

In our everyday Life, we use a lot of words derived from Sanskrit. In respect of Bengali and other NIA (New Indo-Aryan) languages, most of the words owe to the very ancient language Sanskrit. Therefore, there lies an immense influence of Sanskrit on our day to day list in order to express our thoughts. It has got huge importance and significance in our daily life, In this regard, this special lecture was organized focussing the topic in the light of Indian tradition and culture.
