DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS

Establishment:

Department of Mathematics started its journey in 1972 to offer undergraduate programmes in Mathematics.

Programmes Offered

The Department presently offers the following programmes under the affiliation of Kazi Nazrul University:

• B.Sc. Honours in Mathematics (4 Year)
• B.Sc. in Mathematics (3 Year)

Add on Courses

The Department has also started offering Add on Courses for students of all Departments since the academic session 2023-2024.

• ADD ON COURSE ON “MS-Office: Introduction From Basic to Advanced”(07/03/2024 to 31/05/2024)
• ADD ON COURSE ON “Scientific computation with C for beginners” offered jointly by Department of Mathematics and Physics (09-07-2024 to 14-09-2024)

Teaching and Research

The Department is a premier centre of teaching and learning in the district. The department uses both chalk and talk and computer aided methods of teaching strategies along with special classes to address the learning requirements of slow and advanced learners.

DBT STAR COLLEGE SCHEME

The Department is one of the participating departments under the DBT STAR COLLEGE SCHEME of the institution and has been organizing workshops, hands on training programmes, seminars, invited lectures and interactive sessions, and several other initiatives since September 2022 focussed on the skill enhancement of students, faculty members and staff.
