An educational tour was organized on 1st April, 2022, by the Department of Bengali, Durgapur Government College. Shantiniketan was chosen as the place to visit. Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore is in the heart of Bengali literature and Bengalis. Additionally, various Rabindra Sahitya are also part of the syllabus of the students. So, considering all these aspects, Shantiniketan was chosen as the place for the educational tour for the students of the department of bengali. On April 1, at 8 a.m., four teachers along with fifteen students started their tour from the college campus for Shantiniketan. Arriving there, they first visited the Srijani Shilpagram. Srijani Shilpagram is a travelling exhibition that features homes, lifestyles, and craftsmanship from India’s Eastern and North-Eastern states. The exhibition of the diverse cultures in one place has enriched the knowledge of the students. Then they reached the Visva-Bharati campus. Maintaining the social distance they visited the Upasana Griha (Kanch Mandir), Chatimtala, TinPahar, Amrakunja, Ghanta Tala, Gour prangan, Kalabhavan, Natyaghar, Sangeet Bhavan, Ananda Pathshala, Patha Bhavan etc. They could not enter Uttarayan Complex because of Covid Protocol. So from the outside, they were shown that traditional place. After lunch, the students are taken to Sonajhuri Hat. This Sonajhuri Hat, decorated with various local handicrafts introduces them to the culture of Birbhum. There they heard Baul song which is one of the famous Bengali folk songs. These Baul songs also belong to their syllabus. They spent time in this Sonajhuri Hat rich in Baul songs and handicrafts of local artists.

EDUCATIONAL TOUR ORGANIZED BY DEPARTMENT OF BENGALI, DURGAPUR GOVERNMENT COLLEGE TO DIFFERENT TEMPLES AT THE VICINITY OF VISVA BHARATI,SANTINIKETAN
Students learnt about the ancient history of the village Kenduli and the surrounding temples and also learnt about temple on Ajay Tira. They also learnt how to observe an ancient temple which serve as sources of Social, Political, Economic and Cultural life of the people and students also observed the architecture and sculpture pattern of the ancient temple.

Student learnt how the ancient temples serve as significant documents of past history.
Students learnt the importance of spirituality in human day to day life, greatness of various temples. Oh ship of banadi family goddess Shiva, Lakshmi Devi, goddess Narayana temple and their craftsmanship.
At the end it can be said that this educational tour of December 19th, 2022 was fruitful and successful as the combined effort of teachers and students.

The resource person of the seminar Shri Tripura Basu has been collecting several ancient Indian Bengali manuscripts. he explained the process of reading ancient Bengali manuscripts and also stated the significance of collection and reading of ancient Indian manuscripts.
