The Women’s Cell of Durgapur Government College takes every initiative to uphold the institutional vision of gender equality and celebration of all genders with equal access and active participation in the decision-making process. Durgapur Government College regularly organizes seminars, discussion meetings, gender sensitization week, orientation programmes, poster competitions, student seminars, and other related events to mark social issues and find ways of making gender equations more even and balanced.
The institution involves active participation of women in developmental processes as Heads of academic departments and administrative committees and sincerely works to provide adequate infrastructural facilities for the safety and security of women in the college premises.
The Cell conducted Gender Audit of the institution for the period 2019-2020 to 2023-2024.
