History

In the Department of Political science, we strive to build within the students all the possibilities related to academic excellence and cultivate within themselves effective communication skills and virtues which would foster self-confidence, self-dependence and determination to strive for the best. The Department was established in 1970.

Courses

The department offers following two undergraduate programmes in Political Science under the affiliation of Kazi Nazrul University, Asansol

• B.A. Honours in Political Science

• B.A. Program in Political Science

The curriculum and syllabus of these programmes is under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) implemented by the affiliating university.

The department offers generic elective course in Political Science for the students of Arts Honours programmes.

  • The Department has a seminar library with total 282 number of books and 233 titles. Teacher in charge of seminar library: Smt. Nabamita Barman. The Department also has a Book Bank with total 50 books and the number of titles is 46. Departmental Book bank- in- Charge: Smt. Nabamita Barman. The department is also equipped with computer facilities.
